“All is perfect, so perfectly perfect!

Whatever being lives, moves

And breathes on Earth

At every level from atom

To galaxy is absolutely perfect in its place

Precise and choreographed.”

—From the Isa Upanishad.

i started crafting about ten years ago, when i bought myself a basic singer sewing machine, and i taught myself how to use it. i discovered the joy of crafting, and hand-making gifts for friends- a cute tote bag- an apron- a simple quilt- a baby mobile. Each project taught me something new- and my imagination for creating art and crafts has grown and thrived.

i make A LOT of mistakes. i continue to make A LOT of mistakes. i stitch, i tear apart, i start over. Part of my experience in crafting is walking the fine line between the frustration of being very amateur and mediocre- and accepting the mistake-making as part of the learning curve. For a perfectionist like myself, it has been a devastating/ heart-achingly honest reveal: that i am imperfect. and! to welcome my creations as imperfect. Of course, i try my best to develop my crafting skills, through focus, practice and sincere dedication. i try to make my work neat and clean. But the reality is: this is a passion expression, and more and more, i open myself to the raw freedom of creating art- loose, untethered, without judgement. The more i let go of the need to be perfect, and allow the personality of the creation to uncover itself, the more interesting the art becomes. My goal is to make crafts that inspire awe, and wonder. Something to sparkle, and make you smile. These creations are filled with love and imagination- it is the most real, authentic version of myself that i can give- and all is very very imperfect.
